Why I Chose Low Content Journals Over Novels When Writing...

Published on 4 December 2021 at 19:14

To be totally honest, it wasn't the original path I was leaning towards. My heart was in it to win it when it came to writing stories and novels and I was all for writing a book... Low content journals wasn't even a thing.

I didn't even know what the phrase meant "low content".

I had to look it up... Literally

And after doing research on it, it sparked my interest. It sounded like a lot of fun.

I mean, I had no idea what kind of book I was going to write anyways, so these low content journals - why not give them a try?

And it turns out that they are actually super easy to make, and don't require much time at all.

My Fitness Journal - is essentially everything a person needs to reach their fitness goals and feel accountable for their actions. It allows you to plan out your workout for the week, the day, and track your food in your food diary. You'll either be really proud of yourself, or want to try harder the next day after writing down what was accomplished. And I think that's the most important thing with this journal. I want you to feel something. To try harder. To do better. Because YOU are amazing, and you can do anything. This journal should be proof of that. Your little accountability gem if you will. Which was another piece that gave me inspiration, because health and fitness is a big part of my life and I was really excited to get this one up and on Amazon.

Self Care For Mom's - Your Daily Dose Of Happy - was the actually the first journal I ever wrote. It took me about 72 hours or so to have it totally created, but once it was finished, I was so excited to share it with the world. As a mom myself, I was inspired to write this because motherhood and parenting is hard. One of the most important things we can do for ourselves is give our bodies, our minds, and our hearts, the "me time", self care and self love that we most definitely deserve. Whether that's getting a 30 minute sweat session in, or nature watching, reading your favorite book, or just catching up on your TV series - doing whatever feels right to YOU is self love and you deserve to take that time for yourself mama!

I was really excited to get this one up on Amazon because it's a little less than 300 pages long - but it's chalk full of tasks, large and small, active and cozy, splurging on yourself, and not spending one single penny that all equate to one happy mama! The goal here is to complete each task honestly. You must not move on to the next task until the last task has been completed.

Sounds super fun right?

I just knew after creating two low content journals such as these that speak so deeply to my soul that I found my niche. My calling. My purpose in writing.

The idea of writing a story or novel may always excite me, but I love how broad low content journals are. Which is great, because I'm passionate about a lot of things and I can use those passions to turn them into journals that work and may inspire others (definite ultimate goal).

I am so excited to see where this new path takes me, and I'm really grateful to have you all along for the ride. Thanks for being here!

In case you don't know it already, you are amazing ✨

Untile next time,

Jess ❤️
